The United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) was founded in 1958. The Office was created in order to serve as a assistant to the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPOUS). The main objective of this United Nations Office is to promote the sustainable and peaceful use of space science and exploration. This United Nations Organization is responsible for assisting any regulatory and legal frameworks regarding space activity that the United Nations Member States may establish. Not only does it assist members it also keeps record of the objects launched into space and advises space law to Non Governmental Organizations and governments.
